Volunteers needed for Jazz Festival

Volunteers are still needed in a few key positions for the Eighth Annual High Mountains Jazz Festival at Sisters to be held September 18-20.

The volunteers sell badges before and during the three-day festival, work as beverage servers, rovers and as door persons. Other jobs are also available.

"We have had a good response from our 1997 volunteers, but we still need a few more people to complete the staffing at the four locations," said Volunteer Coordinator Rick Murray. "With the festival less than a month away, we need to get commitments from people as soon as we can."

Those interested in volunteering should leave their name and mailing address at Mountain Pines Resort Wear, 200 West Cascade in Sisters, or mail it to the High Mountains Jazz Festival at Sisters, P.O. Box 248, Sisters, OR 97759, or phone Rick Murray, 549-1774, or Pat Vandewater, 595- 6914.

"Please leave a complete mailing address and not just a phone number so that we can send you the job descriptions and an application form," Murray said. "We will hold an orientation session in early September."

Volunteers who contribute eight or more hours will receive a three-day badge to the festival that will admit them to all four locations.
