Sisters Community Choir is looking for people who love to sing.
The choir, which operates through the auspices of Central Oregon Community Collegeand under the leadership of Forrest Daniel, worldwide conductor and voice teacher, meets on Thursday evenings, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Latter Day Saints church in Sisters. This term will start September 17.
The choir sings all varieties of music, from 17th century classics to modern day jazz, gospel and show tunes. This term the choir will focus on Vivaldi's "Gloria" as well as other Christmas and holiday carols and favorites.
There is a special need for high-sopranos and low basses but any and all are invited. There are also voice classes available (also through COCC) on Tuesday evenings at Sisters High School, starting September 22, under the teaching of Forrest Daniel.
Participants do not need to be a member of the Community Choir to sign up for these classes. The cost is $35. and is non-credit for this term. Call Jill Huff at 549-0981 for more information.
