High school drama rehearses for comedy

The Sisters High School drama department is rehearsing for a production of the 1930s play "You Can't Take it With You."

The cast for the Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman play consists of eight boys and eight girls, with members from every class performing.

"The group, cast-wise, is great," said junior Chandra Hess. "All of us are friends and we work well together."

"The actors are beginning to fall into their roles and they're learning their lines with great enthusiasm," said director Lisa Fetrow.

Fetrow directed "The Mouse Trap" and created the costumes for "The Crucible" in previous years. She acts in plays in Sisters, and she played Mrs. Bedwin in the Bend production of "Oliver!" this past June.

The actors believe this play will be bigger and better than those in the past.

"We have a set builder and we have more actors this year. I think the play will have more depth," said junior Megan Benton.

The play is a comedy about a girl and her fiancé and how their two very different families interact upon first meeting.

Performances will be on November 13, 14 19 and 21 at the Sisters High School auditorium.
