Sun shines on parade

With clear blue skies and the lure of Santa's arrival, the crowds turned out in large numbers for the annual Sisters Christmas Parade.

Adults and children lined the streets from the beginning of the parade route at the corner of Hood Avenue and Pine Street all the way down to Spruce Street.

Over 30 entries, ranging from miniature donkeys to

Sisters' unofficial mascot, the llama, filled the parade route.

Grand prizes were awarded to: Central Oregon Llama Association for their festively decorated llamas; Small Farmers Journal for their flatbed truck with fresh snow and carolers; The Mad Hatters Children's Theater all dressed in Dickens-era clothing; Sisters Floral, for their horse-drawn carriage and costumes and the candy and fresh roses passed out to the crowd.

Honorable Mentions were awarded to Lutton's Ace Hardware for creativity and the obvious fun they were having; The Corgie Express composed of Pembrook Welsh Corgie dogs pulling a miniature sleigh; and to the bright

red roadster titled "Bearly Angelic."

The parade was sponsored by the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.
