News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
To the Editor:
I was reading The Nugget (February 24) issue and became saddened when I saw a small, yet impressionable article. The article title "Time to turn out the tiny lights."
I no longer live in Sisters, but I love to see the town lit up with the tiny white lights when I come to visit. Sisters is known for its quaintness and I think that the lights should be able to stay on!
Since I'm writing, I would also like to say congratulations to Sisters High School for an outstanding year in sports. Keep it up Outlaws!

To the Editor:
I'd recently expressed my concern about public land use and keeping it clean. Specifically the land behind Lazy Z on Highway 126 that is used for target practice.
I was overwhelmed with the response by the community and would personally like to thank each one of them: George Conner, David McConnell, Ted Napier, Louden Lockhard, Mike Milne, Russ Weir, Jay Crawford, John Nitcher and Robert and Terry Barber.
I would also like to mention that these people don't necessarily use this area for target practice but volunteered their time anyway. And thanks to them and their concern for our community. It only took 30 minutes to clean up.
Thanks again,
Jerry Willis
