I encourage all seniors in our community to make your voice heard.
Currently, Sisters Area Affordable Housing Solutions is distributing a survey to the seniors in our area to get their input on their housing needs. Maybe you are a senior who doesn't need housing at the present time and you think this is just a waste of time. There may come a time in the future when your present housing is no longer suitable - you cannot afford the mortgage or rent, you are spending your precious savings on the property taxes or maintenance of your aging home, or you need to live closer to the shops and services.
When you look around for alternative accommodations, it's possible there will be very little choice and the cost will be so high it will be financially out of your reach.
Sisters Area Affordable Housing Solutions is planning for the future now. They want our seniors to have choices and the opportunity to remain in the Sisters area close to your family and friends in a comfortable affordable home.
Please help SAAHS plan the housing that is needed for our community, by completing a housing survey. Your input is crucial. To obtain a survey, or if you have any questions, please call 549-2287.

My sisters and I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful ladies at Powell's Care Home here in Sisters for the loving wonderful care shown to our mother Martha.
I thanked God every day that Mom could spend her last days surrounded by such love, concern and care.
We would also like to thank Hospice for all they did, not only for Mom, but for John and me.
And I will be forever grateful to the Rev. David Ellison. His visits to mom touched her heart and mine. God bless you Irene, Nichole, Shelia, Melody and David.
We love you Mom,
Sylvia Cara and Joan Jackson
