To the Editor:
On Wednesday evening, May 5, I inadvertently dropped my Veterans of Foreign Wars cap upon leaving a meeting at Sisters City Hall. I have checked with city hall on several occasions since and it has not been turned in to them, nor has it been turned in to the sheriff's office.
I put an advertisement in The Nugget and have had no response.
The cap is olive drab, with gold trim. It has the number 8138 on the right side, and has numerous pins attached. It also has a red life member banner on the right side. It can be identified.
Obviously, someone picked it up in the white plastic envelope it was in. This cap is of absolutely no value to anyone but me. It has great sentimental value to me, but most can be replaced.
That is not the point. The point is that someone picked it up and failed or forgot to turn it in as found property and whoever did so does not dare to wear it.
I would greatly appreciate it if whoever found it or has it would turn it in to either the Sisters City Hall, the Sisters Sheriff's Station or call me at 549--0592 and let me know where I can pick it up, no questions asked. Thank you.

To the Editor,
I wish to say a large thank you to this beautiful community we live in.
On April 2, my husband Jim was in a terrible traffic accident, which The Nugget reported on April 7. The Sisters EMTs and Cloverdale Fire District personnel saved his life, with the help of Air Life.
Since then he has been in St. Charles Medical Center. He is improving daily, but this kind of head injury takes lots of time and hard work to recover. We came home from St. Charles on May 11 and have begun the long process of exercise and therapy to get Jim back to his normal life.
We have had so many calls and cards I am unable to answer them all, so I pray this thank you will cover me for a while. I do need to mention a special thanks to Aubrey Cyrus for the beautiful card. Also to Chief Chuck Cable and the officers and volunteers of the Cloverdale Fire District and the EMTs from Sisters. They have been there for us throughout this long ordeal. Their cheerful visits give Jim a purpose for the work ahead, and it has helped me just having them drop by.
Thanks to all of you again.
Sincerely,
Sammy Corfield and Family

Once again our annual spaghetti feed and bingo night was a huge success.
I would like to extend a big thank you to all the students who sold their tickets and collected gifts for bingo. I would also like to thank the parents who helped with food preparation and the wonderful desserts for our auction.
Special thanks to Dave and Roger for calling bingo and to Jade for helping me put the whole thing on. Most of all I would like to thank our wonderful community and the community of Sisters for supporting us, as always, in a way that no other community could.
To the merchants of Sisters: Our students asked for donations for bingo and they came back with arms full and smiles on their faces amazed by your generosity and caring. Thank you!
We will be having a pancake breakfast and some other fund--raising efforts on Memorial Day weekend to send another group of our kids to National History Day Competition in Maryland.
Come and join us!
Sincerely,
Jill Benhower, Black Butte School

After a poor start, the Sisters High School varsity boys' golf team, under wet and cold conditions, clinched a state championship spot in their District finals last week.
When a disqualification of an opponent golfer moved the Sisters team to first place, they found themselves holding a district championship title - and it was a title well deserved.
Congratulations to coach Jeff Barton, senior Brett Ebner (who finished tied for third place and made first team, all district), sophomore Justin Lair (fifth place; first team, all district), senior Trevor Johnson (top 25), freshman Justin Little (ninth place; second team, all district) and junior Evan Owens (11th place; honorable mention) .
The area golf courses and their staffs are also to be congratulated for their generous support of the golf team .
A special thanks to coach Jeff Barton who never let the team give up, continuing to encourage and instill the integrity of the game of golf in these boys.
Way to go, Outlaws!
Congrats,
Dan and Pattie Little

Thank you Ray Horgen of the Sisters Ranger District road department for grading Road 200 to C Tract in Camp Sherman.
I have found the Forest Service personnel all good people to work with through my terms as chairman of Road District 18. I hope this good working relationship continues. Road 200 along with Jefferson County road 700 is a vital scenic route for the people that visit and live here in Camp Sherman.
