Thomas Allen Meyer, 47, was arraigned on Monday, June 21, on charges of manufacture and possession of marijuana.
The arraignment followed Meyer's arrest on May 19 during an IRS-led search for financial records, when local authorities discovered the small grow operation in Meyer's barn.
Twelve plants, 24 to 36 inches tall, were seized.
According to Deschutes County District Attorney Mike Dugan, Meyer has a history of drug-related convictions going back to 1972. If convicted of the "Level 8" offense resulting from the latest arrest, Meyer could receive 23 to 24 months in jail.
Meyer is represented by Robynne Whitney of McCrea P.C. in Eugene.
Dugan said that Meyer requested and received authorization from the court to go out of state if he had prior permission for the trip and signed a written waiver of extradition.
Dugan indicated that the next scheduled court date is July 26, when Meyer will enter a plea to the charges.
