To the Editor:
The June 26 Crossroads Annual Meeting was a sham.
At the meeting the board announced that proxies must be filed with the secretary five days prior to the election. By requiring advance filing, a requirement absent from the bylaws, reelection of board members was guaranteed. They controlled plenty of proxies filed five day prior to election.
Following the election, the board announced that Judge Tiktin had invalidated all but the original Crossroads CCRs. This announcement was wrong. Judge Tiktin did not invalidate any CCRs. He ruled the amendments are not enforceable. Unenforceability is the result of the board's failure to make sure the amendments were signed and properly recorded. The board needs to read the court's judgment.
Stunned by their loss at trial, the board presented three options: 1) rely on the 1972 CCRs; 2) appeal Judge Tiktin's ruling; or 3) form a new association. Membership was told option two was the only practical approach.
After the trial ended, Crossroads argued that the Holders waited too long to claim unenforceability. Even if the appellate court agrees, the unenforceability argument is available to other owners and purchasers. The board failed to explain how an appeal will change this result. More startling, when asked, the board refused to take a straw poll of the membership to see if they prefer the 1972 CCRs.
Crossroads' defeat resulted from several factors, including evidence of favoritism and discriminatory enforcement. This favoritism has inevitably led to bitterness. Bitterness now fuels the board's decision to appeal. Thankfully the appellate court is unlikely to let bitterness change the trial result.

Reflections on the quilt show this year: Putting small pieces together to make a more beautiful whole. Enriching one color by adding another next to it.
Focusing on the old tradition and then adding another approach. Working with a group to accomplish something that could not be done alone.
Celebrating diversity. Wonder at the many possibilities that arise out of the same fabric. Recycling and transforming "old leftovers" into a new creation
Honoring one another. How sometimes our "blocks" don't come out the way we expected and they end up beautiful anyway.

To the Editor:
On behalf of the entire membership and guests of the Oregon Gold Wing Road Rider's Association, please accept our thanks for another wonderful time in your beautiful village.
Our 17th annual "Wings of the West" Roundup during the Fathers' Day weekend was a wonderful success thanks to you.
Everyone of the 428 Wingers in attendance were very impressed with your friendliness, helpfulness and commitment to our pleasure. The "Wings of the West" rally has gained a national reputation for having the best "merchants-poker-walk" of any GWRRA get-together.
Our light parade was well attended by the townspeople and our other downtown events were well received. The only reason we have these rallies is to have fun and you have helped us to do this year after year.
Again, thank you, thank you, thank you. The vast majority of you have made us feel very welcome and we hope to be invited back in the years to come. Sisters is a perfect place for us and we hope you feel that the Gold Wingers are a perfect crowd for you. We hope to see you soon. Until then....
Ride Safe and Keep It Shiny,
Dennis Fuller
