News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
White tents, brightly decorated booths and festive music will mark the Fourth Annual Country Fair and Art Show at the Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration on Saturday, August 14.
The church is located an eighth of a mile west of Sisters on Highway 242. Admission and parking is free.
The fair is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes something of interest for all the family.
For the children, there will be games to play: Bobbi Leonhardy will return with her miniature donkeys and rides will be available on Jean Davis' ponies and sheep cart from the El Dorado Ranch. Hobie the Clown will be back to entertain the young - and not so young.
The wide selection of music will entertain guests throughout the day.
For the shoppers, a White Elephant booth will be stocked with a selection of bargain items, including some original art.
The Country Store will offer produce from Herrick's Farm, including its famous fresh-picked corn, delicious green beans, cucumbers, berries and tomatoes. Premium wildflower seeds, nut brittle, water bottles with shoulder straps and fly-fishing boxes complete with eight flies from the Fly Fisher's Place are packaged for gift-giving.
Other items for sale include unique hand-crafted bird and bat houses and an array of delicious canned products - including peach with apricot brandy sauce; mint sauce, Oregon strawberry jam, three-pepper jelly and marinated mushrooms.
At 3 p.m. the winning raffle tickets will be drawn. Raffle prizes include a weekend for two at Black Butte Ranch, a handmade queen-size quilt, a custom-made golf club, a fly-fishing package, $200 G.I. Joe's gift certificate and an American Girl doll "Josefina."
