An 18-year-old Sisters man sustained severe injuries to his left hand in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 20 in the early hours of Friday morning, September 3.
According to Deschutes County Sheriff's reports, the young man was eastbound on Highway 20 at milepost 4 east of town at about 1 a.m. when he crossed the oncoming traffic lane and hit a tree.
The man's car rolled several times before coming to a halt.
The driver was transpor- ted to St. Charles Medical Center and consented to a blood and urine draw, according to sheriff's office reports. Deputies also reported finding what appeared to be hallucino- genic Psilocybe mushrooms in the car.
A sheriff's investigation is continuing.
