The second annual Sisters in Sisters celebration is set for Friday, October 1, through Sunday, October 3.
The event kicks off with a Friday night welcome dinner, fashion show, and keynote address by motivational speaker, Sheri Rose Shepherd.
On Saturday there is an afternoon wine and cheese tasting, western barbecue, and entertainment by the Booher Family's Diamond B Chuckwagon Gang.
The final day will feature a Sunday luncheon, a "Silly Sisters contest" and closing address by best-selling author, Alice Gray.
The weekend features several workshops, including "Loving Our Bodies, Loving Ourselves" one given by The Reverend Sally Rustis which focuses on practical ways for women to change their thinking about their bodies.
Other workshops focus on healthy lifestyle choices, interpreting dreams and simplification of life.
Activities include an easy two-mile hike on Saturday along the spring-fed Metolius River with local wildlife experts from the U.S. Forest Service and a rope course at Suttle Lake. All the outdoor activities are optional.
The Friday night keynote speaker is local resident Sheri Rose Shepherd.
According to event organizers, she has taught and inspired thousands to overcome food addic- tions, depression and eating disorders.
Shepherd has authored three books: "Life is Not a Dress Rehearsal," "Fit for Excellence," "and Eating for Excellence."
Registration is still open for the event, which is held under the auspices of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.
