Skiers schuss through third race

The Sisters Outlaws ski team took to the slopes for its third race of the year on Saturday, January 22.

Sisters, a member of the Central Oregon Ski League, raced on the Ed's Garden run at Mt. Bachelor. Bend High School captured the team titles in both wo- men's and men's Giant Slalom race.

Bend High continued to dominate the slopes as the three top men's racers were from Bend.

Ryan Geser finished in 13th place for Sisters, the highest placing on the boys' team. Geser had a combined time of 1:48.71. Nicholas Yopp finished the day with a 1:55.05. Yopp's time was good enough for 22nd.

Yopp also edged Scott Schriener who was .43 seconds off Yopp's time. Schriener had a 1:55.48.

Matt Adams rounded out the top 30 finishes for Sisters, timed at 1:57.66.

In the women's race, Bend's Kelsey Holmer and Chelsea Cheney were second and third. Diane Laws from Sunriver Prep took first place with a 1:44.57.

Molly Johnson was Sisters' top women's racer. John- son posted a combined time of 2:04.67 and was ranked 15th. Standings for other Sisters girls were unavail- able. Stacey Patterson did not race because of a dislocated rib.
