Sheriff's deputies arrested Elizabeth and James Dennis of Sisters for third degree assault on September 4, after a dispute over possession of some clothing allegedly turned physical.
According to sheriff's office reports, a woman and her 14-year-old sister went to the Dennis residence in Sisters to exchange a pair of pants for a pair of boots after arguing over the items on the phone.
Elizabeth Dennis, 21, allegedly struck the woman and grabbed the 14-year-old girl around the neck and kneed her in the abdomen. James Dennis, 21, allegedly held the 14-year-old during the assault.
A sheriff's deputy reported that the girl's face was red and swollen on one side and she allegedly was scratched and bloodied
She also complained of abdominal pain.
Elizabeth Dennis told the deputy that she had only attempted to restrain the girl after the girl punched her and that she had not assaulted her in any way.
The deputy reported seeing no sign of injury to either Dennis or her husband.
Elizabeth Dennis was transported to Deschutes County Jail on a charge of Assault III; her husband was issued a citation on the same charge, which is a Class C felony.
