News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Two Sisters businesses and four residences were named winners in the Holiday Lighting Contest sponsored by the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce.
In the business category, Western Title won the "Best Use of Windows and Lighting" and Something Special by Sandy won the "Best Traditional Decorations."
Both winners will receive a free ad in the Chamber newsletter, Western Title in January and Something Special in February.
Chamber manager Tonya Littlehales said, "we had so many cool houses we came up with a few new categories, rather than first, second, third place and so on."
In town, the Kolb family won the "Best Holidays Scenes." Out in Tollgate there were three winners: Alinda and Ernie Dunn won the "Best Overall Appearance," the Carlson family won "Best Dramatic Entrance" and Donna and John Lowry won "Best Design and Layout."
All residential winners won a framed picture of themselves and their house.
"Everyone who entered went to a lot of effort decorating their houses and it was a lot of fun to be able to see them all," said Littlehales. "Although I don't envy their electric bill!"
