News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
The Easter Bunny must have used some leverage to induce a nice, mild sunny day for the young Easter Egg hunters who turned out on Sunday, April 15, at Creekside City Park.
Sisters' annual egg hunt provided the usual fun for children from infancy to 11 years of age.
Many a lass was seen in a snazzy Easter bonnet (with all the frills upon it) and little baskets were heaped high with eggs.
Smiles abounded.
The event is staged each year by the Sisters-Camp Sherman Volunteer & Ambulance Association, under the leadership of Stephen Fisher.
The Cloverdale Volunteer Firefighters Association; Sisters Rodeo Association; The Gallery Restaurant; Ray's Food Place; City of Sisters Public Works; and Sisters Elementary School all pitched in to provide hundreds of colored eggs and places to hunt them.
Prizes were awarded to some of the successful hunters, many of whom came from other towns:
In the Infant-to-two years category, Kendra Matlock of Redmond took first place; Marie Coffey of Sisters was second; Conner Dooley of Bend was third; Alec Gannon of Sisters was fourth.
Three-to five: Rieleigh Baker, Redmond; Hunter Jutte, Sisters; Lucas Harrison Calderwood, Sisters.
Six to eight: Chelsie McConville, Sisters; Dustin Matlock, Redmond; Niki Haken, Sisters; Dustin Contreras, Portland.
Nine to 11: Elizabeth Hoskins, Sisters; Benjamin Morese, Sisters; Brandon Sullivan, Bend; John Edwards, Sisters.
