Lisa and Avonlea Jacobson.
The Sparrow Club will host a dinner on May 16 at the high school cafetorium.
The purpose of the dinner is to raise money for the medical care of Avonlea Jacobson (see related story, page 4).
"We've been working on this for months now, and it's finally come together," said freshman Kyle Crawford.
The Sparrow Club meets weekly under the direction of vice-principal Bob McCauley to help with Avonlea's rising medical bills.
"It's going to be a really nice chicken dinner," said sophomore Jessie Kinney, who was the catalyst for the club getting started at the school. "Jeff Leeland, who started the Sparrow Foundation, will be speaking, and there will be some kind of background music, probably performed by Americana kids."
Besides the dinner, there will be a silent auction as an additional money-maker. To donate an item, call Jessie at 385-8996.
The dinner will cost $12 per person and will start at 6:30 p.m. To purchase a ticket, call the school at 549-4045. All proceeds will go to the Avonlea Sparrow Fund.
