City to provide traffic bypass

Travelers through Sisters can get around the Quilt Show crush of pedestrian and vehicle traffic on a detour route set up by City of Sisters Public Works Director Gary Frazee. Signs will direct traffic through the detour route.

Westbound drivers can turn right on Locust Street as they enter town, travel north to Barclay Drive and turn left. They will follow Barclay Drive through the industrial park and then jog right on Pine Street to Forest Road 100. That road will take them back to Highway 20.

The detour route will be set up about 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, according to Frazee, and it will remain in operation until about 3 p.m.

Traffic counters will be set up along the route to gauge usage.
