Sheriff's deputies arrested two teens after they allegedly crashed a stolen 1993 Acura Integra in the Crossroads subdivision.
The driver, Kyle Elliot Holcomb, 19, of Portland, was arrested on multiple warrants and a count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The passenger, Joshua Marshall Reznick, 18, of Crossroads, was arrested on one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
According to Reznick's family, Holcomb was a boyhood friend of Joshua's who visited him in Crossroads and invited him for a ride in the Acura.
Holcomb allegedly stole the car from his sister. Reznick allegedly told deputies that he knew Holcomb had taken the car from his sister without permission, but he did not know if it had been reported stolen.
According to the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, residents in Crossroads reported hearing tires skidding and then a crash at about 10:17 p.m. on Thursday, August 2.
Immediately after the crash, a portion of the subdivision reportedly lost electrical power.
Deputies responded, along with Black Butte Ranch Police and reportedly found the Acura on top of a Central Electric Co-op electrical box where it had come to rest after skidding off the roadway.
According to the sheriff's office, an investigation determined that the car had been stolen out of Washington County. Holcomb had switched the plates taking plates from a car belonging to Reznick's mother.
A warrants check allegedly revealed that Holcomb had four warrants on him from Clackamas County and four more from Yamhill County.
Both young men were lodged in Deschutes County Jail. Due to the eight warrants, Holcomb's bail was set at $117,000; Reznick's bail on the UUV charge was set at $5,000.
Both teens were also cited for being minors in possession of alcohol.
