The Outlaws ran away from the White Buffaloes 42-6
The Sisters Outlaws football team recorded its first win of the season with a barn-burning 42-6 victory over the Madras White Buffaloes on Friday, September 14.
Mike Greene lit the fire that exploded into an offensive onslaught by Sisters.
Greene scored three touchdowns to ignite the Outlaws. Greene caught touchdown passes of 33 and 53 yards, and returned a punt 74 yards for Sisters' third score of the night.
Quarterback Pat Burke spread the offense to all of his receivers. Greene had four receptions for 144 yards. Seth Teague caught four passes for 46 yards and Ian McAlister also had one reception. Burke finished the night with nine completions for 209 yards and two touchdowns.
Burke also took to the ground, rumbling for 83 yards on nine carries. He was the team's leading rusher.
JD Chatelain paced all other runners with nine carries for 75 yards and Ryan Harper chewed up the clock with 11 carries for 73 yards. Harper also scored a touchdown.
It seemed that everyone was piling into the Outlaws' scoring attack. JV Running back Chris Wimer scored on a 15 yard burst up the middle for a Sisters' final score of the night.
Head coach Bob Macauley was enthusiastic about his team's offensive effort.
"We didn't even use all our weapons, we were very limited in what we did and we did a lot of damage," the coach said. "Pat (Burke) is also looking very comfortable in the pocket and beginning to show the leadership we need from him."
Sisters is preparing for a monumental game against the eighth-ranked Sweet Home Huskies. Sisters' coaching staff feels comfortable about their team heading into this week's game.
"There is nothing we have to change," said Macauley. "There are just some minor adjustments that we are going to make for this week."
Sweet Home's tradition of big bruising running backs and mammoth linemen will call for Sisters' defense to be extremely physical.
Against the White Buffaloes, Andy Macauley led Outlaw defenders with 11 tackles. Greene finished his spectacular night with 10 tackles. Nate Powell also contributed two interceptions.
