A Sisters man was arrested last weekend after he allegedly assaulted an intoxicated man he was walking home from a bar.

Deputies took 30-year-old Mark Allen Anderson into custody on a charge of second degree assault and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana on Friday night, October 5.

According to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office reports, deputies responded to Sisters Firehall to contact the victim of a possible assault.

Paramedics were treating a man for deep two-inch gash on his forehead. A Sisters resident had transported him to the firehall after finding the bleeding man staggering in his driveway.

The victim reported that he had been drinking at Bronco Billy's Ranch Grill & Saloon. He did not know the name of the man who had been walking him home, but told deputies he could identify him.

The victim claimed that the man had knocked him down with a punch to the head, then hit him and kicked him a couple more times.

According to sheriff's office reports, deputies contacted Anderson at the bar. Anderson allegedly acknowledged volunteering to walk the victim home. Anderson reportedly claimed that the victim was very intoxicated and tried to return to the bar.

Anderson said that the victim ran off and said that the man had fallen down during the walk home, deputies reported.

A deputy took Anderson into custody and transported him to Deschutes County Jail. According to sheriff's office reports, Anderson continued to deny assaulting the victim.

A deputy patted down Anderson at the jail and allegedly discovered a small amount of marijuana.
