The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce is developing a trained team of volunteers to assist in various chamber and community projects.
The team will consist of 12 members. Ten team members will always work an event, along with two members acting as backup.
The team will operate under the direct supervision of Shawn Taylor, Volunteer Coordinator for the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce
The team will receive professional training to work in security, crowd control and parking for chamber and local events.
Team members will assist, answer questions and give directions to visitors who attend these events.
The team will work with vendors in order to make sure that they comply with local fire marshal and city guidelines.
Volunteers will be required to assist with the mapping out of the park and streets for vendors. Assistance will be required to direct traffic and pedestrians in and around the event areas.
Volunteers must attend first aid and CPR training classes as required and attend sheriff's office classes on handling different situations
The Sisters fire department will also offer training, including regulations for both the Village Green Park and other places where events may occur.
Team members will attend the Sunrise Sisters monthly meetings to greet members of the community and explain the role of the Events Assistance Team.
Volunteers will be required to wear clothing and shoe wear as approved by the team leader and use a two-way radio to communicate with other team members.
Applications may be obtained at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center.
Completed applications must be received no later than March 15.
Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, and only residents of the Sisters area need apply.
