Sisters Rodeo seeks queen applicants

Applications are now being accepted for the 2002 Sisters PRCA Rodeo Queen.

Applications will be accepted until the day of tryouts, March 24, at 1 p.m. at the Sisters Rodeo Arena, according to John Leavitt, queen selection committee chair.

Applicants must be 18-23 years of age, as of June 1, 2002; single; have not been married and must not have children. Applicants must supply their own horse, demonstrate their riding abilities and have time available for appearances at the Sisters Rodeo and related events, as well as other Oregon rodeos.

Proof of insurance must accompany all applications.

The selected queen will receive a wardrobe, a Sisters Rodeo belt buckle, travel expenses, and a $500 Sally Leavitt Queen's Scholarship for continued education.

Three judges will select the queen based on personality, appearance, riding ability and the contestant's horse.

In addition to the riding demonstration, contestants will be asked to give a brief oral presentation and respond to questions from the judges.

Application forms and information are available by calling 549-6451 or from Leavitt's Western Wear.
