Boys take first in golf

The Sisters boys golf team continues to make winning look easy. They took on some of the best 3A teams in the state last Monday, April 8, at the Aspen Lakes home course and won by an impressive 23 strokes.

"We played well against some quality teams," said Coach Jeff Barton.

"They will probably be our competition at the state tournament."

The top four varsity scores for the Outlaws combined for a team score of 303. Second place Sherwood ended the day with 326, followed closely by Wilsonville and Scappoose, each with 327. Sweet Home rounded out the competition with a 359.

Jonathan Green led all scorers with a sizzling two-under-par 70.

Barton was enthusiastic in his praise.

"It was Jonathan's second round under par so far this year -- which is outstanding," he said. "He did it on a tough course."

Christian Green shot 75, David Green carded a 78, Zach Sweeney had 80, and Adam Perry finished with 83 for the Outlaws.

"It was our best score of the year," said the coach.
