The Sisters Episcopal Church Country Fair will offer several new features this year on August 10.
Under the leadership of Margery and Frank Guthrie, a number of artists have been selected to exhibit and sell their works at the Invitational Crafts Booth that joins the Fair for the first time.
Artists who have been selected and their specialties include: Brian Phillips - willow furniture; Oscar Spliid - wood carvings (including the very popular herons); Bill Miller and Margery Guthrie - bonsai ("trees in a tray"); Jackie Steele & family/friends quilts; Tom Fish - wooden bowls; Charlotte Milam - pine cone decorations and special bookmarks; Cheri Miller - clay pins; Bill Duff - metal napkin rings; and Celeste Douville polymer clay designs.
Special events for children have always highlighted the fair and this year is no exception. A bouncy castle leads the children's opportunities that also include a petting zoo, animal rides, face painting, storytelling, and games.
Everyone will be able to enjoy numerous delectable foods and beverages, and the live music. White elephants include many surprises (notably a number of pieces of furniture) and Grandma's Attic includes collectibles.
The Country Store offers fresh produce and candy and a newly revived Cake Walk will offer old fashioned fun.
The Country Fair will be held Saturday, August 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sisters Episcopal Church, 1/8 mile west of town off of the McKenzie Highway. Parking and admission are free.
Proceeds from the fair are earmarked for community outreach and for the church's building fund.
