Single-show folk tickets on sale

Individual performance tickets are now on sale for the Sisters Folk Festival scheduled for September 6-8, in Sisters.

Tickets for the Friday evening performance featuring blues artist Chris Smither and American string band The Waybacks are $20.

Smither combines his stunning guitar playing, poetic songwriting, bluesy vocals and wry stage presence into a memorable live performance.

Smither has achieved legendary status by infusing the blues with his own unique songwriting vision to create a style that has the feel and soul of traditional music, but that is totally contemporary. Emmylou Harris recorded his song "Slow Surprise" on the "Horse Whisperer" soundtrack.

The Waybacks offer ace musicianship, a wildly entertaining stage show and genre-bending style that consistently steals the show at festivals around the nation.

The Nashville Bluegrass Band and Slaid Cleaves perform Saturday night. Tickets for that performance are $25.

Cleaves returns to the festival by overwhelming popular demand. His set was perhaps the greatest highlight of last year's festival.

The Nashville Bluegrass Band will be the headline performer at this year's festival. The band, composed of some of the finest bluegrass musicians in the business, has gained added attention over the past year, with its members performing on the wildly successful "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" sound track and in the "Down From the Mountain" concerts.

NBB members Pat Enright, Stuart Duncan and Mike Compton recorded as the film's legendary "Soggy Bottom Boys."

Tickets for Saturday and Sunday afternoon performances featuring a range of national and regional artists are $15.

All-events badges are still available for $60.
