The contretemps started at a reception in Bend, swirling around the question of who was dancing with whom. Alcohol played a part. A youth was reported to be out of control in an argument with family members. He calmed down after a deputy arrived. A man was arrested on a Klamath County warrant after deputies responded to a domestic dispute. A woman reported that dogs were eating parts of a deer on her property. She was referred to her homeowners' association to have the deer removed. Or what was left of it, anyway. Someone stole 19 pieces of dance floor from the Comfort Inn, where the Sisters Jazz festival had a venue. The theft occurred in August. No dancers were missing. A woman was arrested for drunk driving after she wrecked her car on a forest road south of Sisters.
