Sisters sheriff's calls

Deputies responded to a report of a pair of suspicious men loitering around a local hotel, waiting for a room.
One of the men gave a false name to a deputy, possibly because when he gave his real name, it had a felony warrant attached to it. Deputies gave the man a room -- in jail.

A man was cited for an open container after he laid claim to a couple of empties when a car he was riding in was stopped.
A man reported a deer wandering around with an arrow in its leg. The man was hand-feeding the wounded deer. A deputy observed that the deer was getting around all right. When he returned with an Oregon Fish & Wildlife officer, they were unable to locate the deer.
In a separate incident, a resident found a doe dead of an arrow wound. Deputies handed the incident off to an Oregon State police game officer for investigation.
A man broke his lady friend's windshield during an argument. No charges were filed, as they agreed to a civil resolution.
A man hit himself over the head with a beer bottle during an argument with his lady friend. Unlike the movies, the bottle failed to disintegrate properly and the man suffered a cut on the top of his head. Paramedics looked him over, but he did not need to be transported for treatment.
Deputies received a report of a two-year-old left to wander a Sisters neighborhood unsupervised. Deputies were to contact the mother.
A man reported two horses stolen from a makeshift corral. However, they returned on their own.
A man reported 40 gallons of gasoline stolen from his vehicle at his home.
A pair of drivers accused each other of erratic driving and general bad behavior. Each was counseled not to engage in altercations on the roadway.
A driver was cited for making an unsafe pass after an accident on Cascade Avenue.
A deputy assisted a motorist who ran out of gas and was stranded with four kids at Dee Wright Observatory.
A man reported a suspicious phone solicitation from a man claiming to represent a police agency trying to raise funds for kids.
The man declined to state which agency he represented and, when asked, said he did not have any literature to send out. A return call to the number on caller ID raised no answer.

A pair of men were cited for trespassing and attempted theft after they drove around a private fishing lake and apparently tried to make off with a barbecue grill and other fixtures.
