News and Opinion from Sisters, Oregon
Clyde Stryker, Executive Director of the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce, resigned his post on Monday, October 7.
Stryker presented his letter of resignation to past President Peter Storton. Storton was president when Stryker was hired nearly two years ago.
According to Storton, Stryker cited labor issues, but "he chose not to expound on that."
Storton said that he thanked Stryker and told him "he certainly contributed to the community."
However, he noted that he "didn't try to talk him out of leaving."
Storton said the chamber needs to repair itself after the departure of Events Coordinator Annette Hayden and some volunteers.
"Certainly we've had a rough month or two," Storton said.
Chamber President Ed Fitzjarrel said that the chamber executive committee will meet this week to discuss the situation.
The chamber is considering a reevaluation of its pay schedule for its executive positions.
