Cowboy poet featured at Paulina Springs

Leon Flick, a cowboy poet from Plush, will be featured at Paulina Springs Book Company's upcoming Cowboy Poetry Night.

The event will be held at the book store on Saturday, October 12, at 7 p.m. Flick's book, "A Cow's Tail for a Compass," won a 2001 Book of the Year award from the Academy of Western Artists.

In addition to Flick's poetry, the evening will feature a western music jam led by Dick Sandvik and Jim Cornelius. Everything from traditional cowboy tunes to contemporary Western music and original songs will be performed "volunteer style."

Community members are invited to bring an instrument and join in and everyone is encouraged to sing along with the ones they know.

Paulina Springs Book Company is located at 252 W. Hood Ave. For more information call 549-0866.
