Christmas tree permits on sale now

National Forest Christmas tree permits are available now for use in local woods.

Permits sell for $5 each at Forest Service offices and between $5 and $5.75 at many retail outlets.

Along with your permit, you will receive the handout, "Guidelines for Collecting your Christmas Tree," which contains general information on where to find the most popular tree species, and specific information on which trees it is permissible to cut.

Christmas tree permits can be purchased at Sisters Ranger Station (open extended hours Saturdays, December 7 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.); Hoyt's Hardware; Lutton's Ace Hardware and the Camp Sherman Store (Friday, Saturday and Sunday only).
