David James is dedicated to helping his clients protect their wealth and make it grow.

As a First Vice President of Investments with Prudential Financial and a Certified Investment Management Analyst, James now brings his expertise to Sisters.

James' prestigious credentials set him apart in the financial services industry, marking him as a consultant who continually educates himself and keeps abreast of the massive changes in the industry in order to provide his clients with the best possible information and advice.

His credentials also mark the dedication James brings to his work.

"To be really good at this business, this is what you've got to dedicate your life to," he said.

James' fee-based management and consulting practice lets him work with both individuals and businesses to develop broad-ranging strategies for risk management and to meet widely varying individual needs and desires.

That kind of practice requires a deeper focus and understanding than simple dollars and cents issues.

"It's a relationship business rather than just a dollar business," James said. "I like working with people and that makes it easier to get up in the morning and get back to the job.'

James and his wife Glenda and son David Kanoa moved to Sisters from Oahu, where James continues to maintain a practice.

The family was looking for an attractive mainland homeplace -- one that was off the beaten path (but not too far) where James' practice would fit in and the family could enjoy an outdoor lifestyle.

Like many families with middle school-age children, their decision to come to Sisters was influenced by the quality of the schools.

"That's one of the reasons we chose Sisters," James said.

James hopes to become involved in the community outside his work.
