A standing room only crowd of over 200 parents, grandparents and friends enjoyed the Christmas show at Sisters Elementary School on Thursday evening, December 19.

Colorfully dressed elves and pixies passed candies from baskets to happy younger audience members before the show started.

Principal Tim Comfort warmly greeted the audience and asked that everybody relax at this busy time of year and simply enjoy the evening's Christmas show.

A musical combination of songs, dancing and recitals presented by the school's 70 fifth grade students enchanted the gathering in the gaily decorated auditorium.

Familiar holiday songs ranged from "Jingle Bells" to "Silent Night" and included audience participation.

Dancers celebrating Hanukkah, roller bladers skating on stage, a visit with Santa and building a snowman were among the audience favorites.

A Christmas tree, colorfully decorated with student paper ornaments, reached the hall's tall ceiling.

Fifty student singers occupied bleacher seats while others performed on stage.

Holiday skits were woven around the theme of TV coverage from station WICU whose announcers sat on stage.

Fifth grade teachers Mr. Hewett, Miss Kemper and Mrs. Powell arranged the ambitious musical project evening. Music teacher Alisa Allen directed the singing with assistance from physical education teacher Colleen Rice. Jane Moore accompanied on the piano for the performance.
