Thousands of horse and small farming enthusiasts will descend on the Sisters Rodeo Grounds for the 25th annual Small Farmer's Journal Draft Horse and Horsedrawn Equipment Auction and Swap Meet April 25-27.
The meet is a family-oriented agricultural history event. Thousands of items will be offered for sale, privately and at public auction. These include: draft horses, mules, buggy horses, saddle horses, working ponies plus buggies, carriages, stagecoaches, sleighs, freight wagons, covered wagons, buckboards, pleasure driving vehicles, farm wagons, carts and more.
New and used collars, collar pads, halters, bits, bridles, harness parts, harnesses for all size animals, doubletrees, neck yokes, tongues, shafts, sleigh bells, blacksmithing and horseshoeing tools will also be sold. Harness hardware, harness making tools including sewing machines.
The Swap Meet will also include everything from windmills to grain grinders, from handmade clothing to cowboy memorabilia.
The event offers free admission with a $3 parking fee. The auction is open for consignments. All items should be horsepower related and must be checked in by 8 p.m., Thursday evening April 24.
Swap spaces are still available for rent.
Farm machinery, harnesses and tools will sell at auction Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Carriages and wagons sell Saturday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Horses sell at auction Sunday 9 a.m. and on.
