Sisters sheriff's calls

  • A burglar struck The Gallery Restaurant last week, entering through a rear window and stealing cash from the safe. Response was delayed due to a shift change (see story, page 18).

    Deputies are following up on the investigation.

  • Deputies are also looking into a residential burglary. A woman went to check a rental property and heard noise inside. She left and returned later with another woman. They found items left behind by suspects.
  • A Sisters deputy responded to a gunshot suicide by a 54-year-old man west of Bend.
  • Deputies arrested a man who was living with a woman in violation of his restraining order.

Black Butte Ranch Police:

  • An officer contacted a contractor who was visibly upset because one of her employees broke an entry gate by trying to get a second vehicle through on one pass.

    This was particularly useless, since all the vehicles had gate cards and BBR vehicle passes. The officer informed the contractor that all vehicles had to stop and swipe the gate card to gain access. The contractor was advised that the Ranch would be getting in touch with her regarding restitution.

  • A contractor reported someone tried unsuccessfully to make off with a trailer at a job site. There was minor damage to the trailer tongue.
  • A motorist flagged down an officer on Highway 20. During the course of an investigation into a domestic disturbance, the officer arrested a Bend man for reckless driving, domestic menacing and menacing.
