The Depot Deli & Cafe will turn into a hip jazz venue on Friday evening, April 25, as the restaurant begins its Cafe Jazz series, featuring concerts by local students.

Friday's concert features student combos from both Sisters Middle School and Sisters High School. Jazz guitarist Rich Hurdle and program director Jody Henderson will perform with the students.

This concert will mark the debut appearance for a student quintet from Sisters Middle School. They are preparing to perform at the Reno Jazz Festival in May, along with the SHS Varsity Jazz Band.

The event will be an indoor club-style concert, with food and beverage service. The performance will be from 8 to 10 p.m. There is no cover charge, but donations will be accepted for the Sisters High School Jazz Program. The evening is sponsored in part by the Sisters Jazz Festival as part of its focus on providing more opportunities for jazz performance and appreciation in Sisters throughout the year.
