Sisters Community Theatre's production of Sisters resident Gilbert Martin's "The Last Rehearsal" opens Friday, June 20, at Sisters Elementary School. Curtain is at 7 p.m.

Diana Kelleher directs the comedy drama of five characters set in New York City. Cast members Earl Richards, Carolyn Weir, Antonietta Del Guidice and Tom Harpham have been honing their thespian skills and are eager to hear "Places!"

"It's a play within a play," said Kelleher, referring to the plot line. "It is intriguing and often ironic with something for everyone."

"The Last Rehearsal" runs June 20-21 at Sisters Elementary School; June 27-28 at Sisters Athletic Club and July 5-6 at Bend's 2nd Street Theatre at 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the door or for advanced sales call 504-8392 in Sisters or 312-9626 in Bend; $8 adults and $3.50 children.

"Little theater is a wonderful asset to any community," said Kelleher. "It's not just about being on stage. There is wardrobe, make-up, props, publicity, stage manage- ment, and set design and construction.

"Not to mention play selection. There are challenges and rewards and a great deal of fun."
