The Link Fire was 50 percent contained on Monday morning, July 7.
The blaze, burning approximately two miles south of Suttle Lake, is estimated to be 600 acres.
Fire crews conducted burnout operations along the north boundary and the firebreak created by the 2002 Cache Mountain Fire. According to fire officials, the burnouts have helped to hold the fire within the lines overnight.
Five 20-person crews, six bulldozers, numerous engines, and two helicopters were fighting the fire on Monday. Air tankers are available to assist with the effort.
Fire officials were anticipating slightly higher temperatures and wind speeds on Monday.
Suttle Lake campgrounds, organizational camps, and the Suttle Lake Resort remained open. Scout Lake campground and day use area, along with dispersed recreation in the Meadow Lakes Basin are closed.
Camp Tamarack and Dark Lake were evacuated on Saturday, July 5. The fire started Saturday afternoon. It was human-caused.
