Sisters woman climbs in mortgage industry

Toni Williamson is a familiar face to home buyers in Sisters. She has been in the mortgage business in Central Oregon for years.

Now, she has taken a major step in her career. She recently signed on with U.S. Bank Home Mortgage as regional sales manager for Southern, Central and Eastern Oregon.

"It just really intrigued me," she said of her new position. "It's going to the next level for me."

She will work out of the Redmond office, recruiting new loan officers and overseeing activity in her geographically vast territory.

Williamson will still be available to clients in Sisters, though.

"I'm still here to help you with any of your mortgage needs," she said.

According to Williamson, U.S. Bank Home Mortgage offers her and her clients a wide range of products and programs, including in-house options.

That allows her maximum flexibility and greater opportunity to help people get loans and get into homes.

That is the primary goal of U.S. Bank Home Mortgage, Williamson said.

While she can handle refinancing, which is booming due to record-low interest rates, "U.S. Bank's focus is on the purchase and getting people into homes."

Williamson started her new management position on May 19 and has since been caught up in a whirlwind of training and development.

She said she is very pleased with the level of training U.S. Bank devotes to its employees.

"I thought that was really nice; they want to make sure you're ready to go," she said.

She is excited about the challenges and opportunities her new position promises, especially to help people in Sisters where she has lived for eight years with husband Bob and daughter Samantha.

Over the years, she has developed important relationships here.

"I'm devoted to the community," she said.
