Country Fair set for Saturday

With only a few days to go before the Eighth Annual Country Fair, final preparations are in high gear.

The fair will be held on Saturday, August 9, starting at 10 a.m. at Sisters Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration.

This year, visitors will find an unusual assortment of time-tested treasures for sale at the "Grandma's Treasures" booth. A collection of Nancy Ann story book dolls will be featured along with vintage linens, Norman Rockwell plates, a handmade cradle and 1940s crib, fine vintage infants clothing, china and a Singer featherweight sewing machine.

Everyone who appreciates arts and crafts will want to visit the Fine Arts Crafts Booth which features pottery, jewelry, pine needle baskets and willow furniture.

In the Community Hall, the Art Show, juried by Bend artist and teacher Joanne Donaca, will offer works in various media.

Children will enjoy the clown, bouncy castle, animal rides (including a magnificent Clydesdale horse pulling a wagon), petting zoo, games, the puppet show, face painting and the cake walk.

Marionberry cobbler and ice cream is always a hit and visitors may choose a lunch from the many items offered at Café Transfig. The Country Store will offer fresh produce and the Gourmet Garnishes Booth has 10 different canned delicacies to take home.

The fair offers live entertainment with Mark Kershner, the Squawback Anvil Blasters, Christie Romine and Linda Sawyer.

The church is located just west of Sisters on Highway 242.
