Residents of Black Butte Ranch hosted a special guest at their monthly property owners dinner on Tuesday night, December 9.
Carol Woosley, 16-year veteran waitress at the Lodge restaurant, has served dozens of these kinds of meals to the 150 homeowners.
She was a guest that night. She received hugs and kisses and well wishes from virtually everyone there as she readied herself and her family to travel to Portland Friday, December 12, to begin the 100-day treatment program for a bone marrow transplant.
Last month, after six months of waiting, two donors were found who matched on 11 of the 12 criteria necessary for a successful operation for the treatment of her cancer. The younger of the two donors, a 36 year old male, was selected and he will help save Carol's life.
Part of the lengthy procedure is a series of chemotherapy treatments to prepare her for the transplant operation. And then, weeks of quiet rehabilitation.
