Brigham Young University Theatre Ballet will perform at Sisters High School on Tuesday, March 9 at 7 p.m.

The renowned dance troupe performs "The Snow Queen" for communities and projects chosen by the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Sisters performance is a benefit for SOAR (Sisters Organization for Activities and Recreation) and Central Oregon Boys and Girls Clubs.

This will be the first time a ballet troupe of this caliber has performed in Sisters.

Theatre Ballet originated in the Department of Dance at Brigham Young University and is the largest dance program at any American university. The dancers who travel with Theatre Ballet represent the finest dancers from the 470 students enrolled in the department.

Many of BYU's dancers graduate to become professionals in the best ballet and dance companies in the nation.

Beautiful Victorian sets form the backdrop for the tale of good versus evil. The production features colorful, dramatic costumes.

Four choreographers collaborated to present a program which illustrates the diversity of Theatre Ballet, incorporating contemporary ballet choreography as well as classical technique.

The production includes 18 Theatre Ballet members and 15 Ballet Showcase Company members, which will tour Oregon and Washington this year.

Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and youth.

They may be purchased at the SOAR building next to Sisters High School or at any Les Schwab dealership in Central Oregon.
