The Oregon Department of Transportation is inviting the public to an open house on the "Sisters Intersection West Project (US20/OR242)."
The meeting will be held on Friday, April 2 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sisters Fire Hall Training Room, 301 S. Elm St. in Sisters.
ODOT representatives will be available to discuss construction plans and specifications, the project schedule, and the temporary traffic control plan for the project that will realign the "Y" intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 242.
According to ODOT, the Sisters Intersection West Project will enhance the safety, convenience and movement of people and traffic within and through the community of Sisters.
The construction project includes upgrading Hood Avenue between Highway 20 and Highway 242, and constructing "right-in/right-out" access to Highway 242 west of the existing "Y".
During working hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane on Hood Avenue. Motorists are advised to expect delays of 10 to 20 minutes during construction.
Work will begin in April. The cost of this project is $565,300.
