Adults and families with children ages 5 and up will be swept away by the beauty of "Asian Waters: A River of Stories and Music."
Award-winning storyteller and koto master, Elizabeth Falconer, will perform at the Sisters Public Library on Friday, April 30, at 3:30 p.m.
This free concert featuring Asian stories will be accompanied by the haunting music of the Japanese koto. The koto is a member of the zither family, but is commonly referred to as a "floor harp."
The performance is offered as a celebration of stories, music, in conjunction with the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council's Riverfest and the library's "A Novel Idea... Read Together" program.
Falconer began learning to play the koto when she moved to Japan in 1979. She is currently Storyteller in Residence for the Seattle Symphony, and will be touring her performances in Australia and Japan later this year.
Her recordings have received the Parent's Choice Gold and Silver Awards, and the Storytelling World Honor Award.
The Sisters Public Library is located at 291 E. Main Ave. For more information call 312-1070.
