Sisters Rodeo will skip cowboy dance this year

The traditional Saturday night cowboy dance will not be held at next month's 64th Sisters PRCA Rodeo, according to Bonnie Malone of the Sisters Rodeo Association.

Earlier information released by the association had included the dance as part of the rodeo weekend schedule.

"For a number of years, the dance has been held at the Sisters Middle School. We were aware of the plans to demolish these buildings this year, but we were unable to come up with a suitable alternate location," Malone said. "By next year's rodeo, perhaps we can locate a new venue and bring back the dance."

The Sisters Rodeo weekend starts with a Friday evening performance at 7 p.m. on June 11, followed with two performances on Saturday, June 12 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The rodeo concludes on Sunday, June 13 with a 1 p.m. performance.

The Kiwanis Buckaroo Breakfast will be held at the rodeo grounds at 7 a.m.

Tickets are available at the rodeo office at 220 W. Cascade Ave. in Sisters or by phoning 549-0121.
