Fran McNa displays jewelry at her new gallery in Sisters. photo by Conrad Weiler The newly opened Wild Rivers Gallery in Town Square offers a variety of watercolors and mixed media artworks by several Northwest artists.
Of particular interest are the watercolor landscapes of Hank Weber, "Pots of Color" by Carolyn Gunderson and L. Marie Miller's humorous "Two Cranky Girls."
Owner Fran McNa also features jewelry, pottery and textiles in her nicely decorated shop. She was born in Salem and now lives in Sisters.
"The shop's name comes from my love of the Deschutes, Metolius, McKenzie and other rivers in Oregon," said McNa.
Her love for wild rivers is matched by a love of art.
"I love to be around artists as they think out of the box and produce something visual," she said.
McNa is a former gallery guide in Salem and has a business background in the dental field.
Other artists featured in her gallery are Lee Baughman, who will discuss his work the first weekend of each month at the gallery, Susan Cowan and new watercolor artist Jane Deupree. Cowan's mixed media piece "Hui Ho'olana" is of particular interest as is Deupree's "Winter Skies" watercolor.
The shop will have themes each month with Dance in July, Travel in August, and Journey during September.
Unframed art is also available at the Wild Rivers Gallery located at 141 E. Cascade Avenue in downtown Sisters.
The shop is open seven days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Sunday when hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 549-4434 for more information.
