Sisters Chamber seeks volunteers

The Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help man its Visitor Information Center this summer.

The chamber operates the Visitor Information Center as a service to its members and the community. The center operates seven days a week during the summer months. The service center is staffed by a group of volunteers with support and back-up by chamber staff.

"This dedicated group of volunteers are on the front line as ambassadors for the Sisters community," according to Chamber Executive Director Ric Nowak.

The chamber is currently seeking people who can staff the Visitor Information Center on weekends. The hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and can be flexible, including scheduling half days.

Volunteers need to know about the goods and services available in the community. The volunteers meet once a month to keep up to date on events and businesses in the community. They also tour local businesses from time to time to keep up-to-date on goods and services.

"If you enjoy meeting interesting people and you have a good knowledge of the community, serving as an ambassador for the community can be very rewarding," Nowak said.
