Sisters set for Summer Faire this weekend

Sisters will celebrate the Fourth of July holiday with a two-day craft event.

The Sisters Summer Faire is set for Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4, at the Village Green Park (Elm and Jefferson Streets).

In the past, the first Saturday of July was known for the Village Green Craft Show. This show now has been expanded into a two-day event featuring quality hand-crafted items, fine arts, music and a food court.

Vendors offer pottery, metals, wood, textiles and more. Several of the artists will conduct demonstrations of their work.

The live entertainment will feature the South American music of Rodrigo Espinosa on Saturday. On Sunday local favorites Doug and Katie Cavanaugh will perform.

The Stitchin' Post will be selling tickets for the quilt raffle held on Quilt Show day, Saturday, July 10.

There will be ice cream, face painting and free balloons for children.

The hours of operation for both Saturday and Sunday are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event kicks off the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce's series of summer events.

Some of the events are new.

The Sisters Bead Stampede will be held Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8, in the Village Green Park.

The Sisters Antique Faire is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 21-22.
