Sisters sheriff's calls

  • The sheriff's substation in Sisters may have to change its motto to "All barking dogs, all the time." Deputies spent a good part of the week responding to complaints about barking dogs.

    The critters get restless on hot nights and vacationing owners seem to leave them out where they can entertain the neighbors.

    The driver had opted for a little sleep before continuing a long journey.

  • Deputies searched for a Corvette reported to be doing well over 100 miles per hour westbound on Highway 20.

    The Corvette was long gone.

  • A dog chased a cyclist.

    A deputy warned the dog's owner.

    In a separate incident a local man reported being chased down the street by a German shepherd.

  • An Idaho resident reported several incidents of identity theft in Sisters and other Oregon cities.
  • Deputies arrested a man for drunk driving.

    He allegedly had a blood-alcohol count of .30 percent.

  • A driver fell asleep and slid off the road.
