Death came from self-inflicted gunshot

between Sisters and Redmond died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Adrian Grey Mattive, 41, of Redmond, was found on Thursday morning, August 5, face down near his vehicle on Bureau of Land Management land about 1/4 mile off Buckhorn Road west of Redmond, according to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office reports.

Mattive had a wound to his upper body and a rifle was found near the scene.

Investigators from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, assisted by Oregon State Police, the Tri-county Major Crime Team and the District Attorney's Office investigated the circumstances surrounding Mattive's death.

According to the sheriff's office, the investigation and autopsy results from the Oregon Medical Examiner led investigators to conclude that Mattive died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
